Description

The UK Advertising Codes lay down rules for advertisers, agencies and media owners to follow. The Codes require that all ads, wherever they appear, are prepared in a responsible way and do not contain anything likely to be misleading, harmful or offensive. The Codes are written by B/CAP and are administered by the ASA.

What will be covered?

  • Understanding ad regulation - how the ASA and CAP work
  • Someone’s complained about your ad – what now?  A step-by-step guide to the ASA process
  • An overview of the TV, radio and non-broadcast Codes
  • Providing substantiation: what type of evidence will the ASA accept? How and when do they use experts?
  • Case studies and examples of ASA adjudications
  • Resources available to marketers and agencies to ensure campaigns comply with the rules
  • Details of the online remit extension and its implications
  • Which rules will apply
  • Q&A

Unfortunately we cannot answer specific queries regarding individual ad campaigns during the seminar.  This is owing to time constraints during the seminar and the need to make sure the seminar is relevant for all participants. We do have a confidential advice service you can use. Copy Advice Team.
